J-Plazty NECK

At Rejuvence we are the first and only clinic in the UK to offer the revolutionary J-Plazty treatment. Dr Jack Zamora, a cosmetic surgeon based in Denver, Colorado, pioneered this technique using an innovative helium based plasma device known as J-Plasma. It has been featured widely in the American media and taken the US by storm. J-Plazty is a minimally invasive technique that can be used to tighten loose and crepey skin in different parts of the body that result from the normal aging process as well following weight loss and after pregnancy.

As we age, the skin around the jawline and neck loses collagen and elastin. As a result skin starts to sag and become crepey. This results in the formation of jowls along the jawline as well as lose the sweeping slender profile of the neck resulting in what is often referred to as a ‘turkey neck’. Significant changes in weight can also result in loosening of the skin around the neck and jawline.

What is J-Plazty Neck?

J-Plazty neck is a ground breaking innovative skin tightening procedure that provides significant improvement in sagging skin along the neck and jawline. It is minimally invasive, providing results far superior to a threadlift as well as much longer lasting. It also costs significantly less than a neck lift with a much quicker recovery and can be performed under local anaesthetic. When coupled with VASER liposuction excess fat around the neck and jawline can be removed at the same time, to reveal a more slender, youthful and tighter looking neck profile and jawline.

Who is a candidate for J-Plazty Neck?

J-Plazty is appropriate for both men and women between the ages of 30 and 80 years of age. It is most effective in the treatment of moderate sagging of skin over the jawline and neck. Those often seeking this treatment suffer with sagging skin due to natural aging or following significant weight loss. J-Plazty is almost always coupled with VASER liposuction and hence can be used to remove excess fat around the neck followed by skin tightening. Results are natural and long-lasting and avoids the costs, downtime and potential complications of cosmetic surgery.

What treatments are currently available for neck tightening?

At present treatments for tightening of the skin around the neck can be separated into surgical and minimally invasive treatments. Surgical treatments involve neck lifts that are often expensive, invasive and require a general anaesthetic. The recovery period is prolonged and can involve large scars. The results, however, are impressive and in some cases this is the only option available. Liposuction of the neck can represent a slightly less invasive option. However, despite removing any excess fat in and around the neck, liposuction does nothing to tighten and improve the skin. Non-invasive treatments include the use of PDO threads to help tighten and provide lift. Although less invasive, threads are not a long term option with results lasting up to 18 months at best. In addition they can be associated with significant bleeding and bruising and often the results are not ideal. Dermal fillers can be used to improve the contour of the jawline and chin but this is often temporary and provides no improvements to the skin itself.

J-Plazty uses the power of cold J-Plasma. Plasma energy has replaced traditional laser devices and is able to achieve better skin tightening and helps to increase collagen and elastin. J-Plasma uses helium resulting in cold plasma energy that is extremely precise making it safer than other alternatives on the market. J-Plazty Neck is performed under local anaesthetic. Three small incisions measuring less than a centimetre are made just behind the ears and along the underside of the chin. The J-Plasma wand is then used to treat the underside of the skin of the jawline and neck. This helps to tighten and rejuvenate the skin from the inside out. Prior to J-Plasma we often perform liposuction with VASER to remove any excess fat.

The downtime from J-Plazty Neck is significantly shorter than with more invasive cosmetic surgery. Following the procedure clients are asked to wear a neck and face compression garment for the first 72 hours and then continue to wear this every night for the next 4 weeks. There can be some minimal oozing for the first 24 to 48 hours from the incision sites that are often left to heal naturally. There is minimal pain associated with the procedure and paracetamol will often suffice. We recommend our clients take 2 to 3 days off work.

The results of J-Plazty Neck will be noticeable soon after the procedure within the first week. The results will continue to improve over the course of 2 to 3 months as there is continued skin contracture and generation of new collagen and elastin. Unlike non-invasive techniques such as threadlifts, the results of J-Plazty should last for many years.
J-Plazty Neck has moved the goal posts! We believe this will rapidly become the treatment of choice for tightening up the neck and jawline. We are the only clinic in the UK to provide J-Plazty Neck and the national training centre for cosmetic J-Plasma treatments.
