VASER Lipo & Renuvion - ABDOMEN

At Rejuvence we are the first clinic in the UK to offer the revolutionary Renuvion Skin Tightening treatment with VASER Liposuction. Dr Jack Zamora, a cosmetic surgeon based in Denver, Colorado, pioneered this technique using an innovative helium based plasma device known as J-Plasma and trademarked this as J-Plazty. J-Plazty is a minimally invasive technique that can be used to tighten loose and crepey skin in different parts of the body that result from the normal ageing process as well following weight loss and after pregnancy.

We are all paranoid about our tummies and battle through life in an attempt to maintain a sleek and slender waist line. Lifestyle changes and hard work at the gym can help to reduce our weight and our waist but sometimes that is not enough. Changes in body weight and the effects of pregnancy can leave many with loose and crepey skin over the abdomen and flanks. This is especially the case with those who go through bariatric surgery and the euphoria of achieving your desired weight can be overwhelmed by the disappointment of being left with excess skin.

What is J-Plazty Abdomen?

J-Plazty Abs is a ground breaking innovative skin tightening procedure that provides significant improvement in loose and crepey skin around the abdomen and flanks. It is minimally invasive, providing results far superior to radio-frequency and ultrasound based over the skin treatments such as Sculpsure and 3D Lipomed. It also costs significantly less than a ‘tummy tuck’ with a much quicker recovery and is performed under sedation. When coupled with VASER, liposculpting can be carried out to remove fat and fashion a slimmer waistline with TIGHTER skin.

Who is a candidate for J-Plazty Abs?

J-Plazty is appropriate for both men and women between the ages of 30 and 80 years of age. It is effective in the treatment of moderate loosening of skin over the abdomen and flanks. Those often seeking this treatment are concerned about crepey and excess skin that has resulted from pregnancy or from significant weight loss. J-Plazty is almost always coupled with VASER liposuction and hence can be used to liposculpt the waistline. J-Plazty Abs is a game changing addition to anyone seeking VASER to help remove stubborn areas of fat around their waistline. As we age, no matter how much we go to the gym and how many sit ups we do certain regions of fat around the belly button and flanks and hips just do not shed. In these cases VASER is fantastic and when combined with J-Plazty results are ground-breaking.  It is important to note that in certain cases J-Plazty Abdomen with VASER will not be suitable and an abdominoplasty may be the only option.

How is J-Plazty Abs performed?

J-Plazty uses the power of cold J-Plasma. Plasma energy has replaced traditional laser devices and is able to achieve better skin tightening and helps to increase collagen and elastin. J-Plasma uses helium resulting in cold plasma energy that is extremely precise making it safer than other alternatives on the market. J-Plazty Abdomen is performed under sedation. Small incisions are made in the groin and also in the flanks. After completing any necessary VASER liposuction the J-Plasma wand is used to treat the underside of the skin of the abdomen and flanks. This helps to tighten and rejuvenate the skin from the inside out.

What treatments are currently available for tummy tightening?

As with most conditions treatments available include surgical and non-surgical options. A traditional abdominoplasty, also known as the ‘tummy tuck’, is in some cases the only available option especially where there is an overhang of skin. A ‘tummy tuck’ is expensive, requires a general anaesthetic, involves a large scar on the tummy and prolonged downtime. VASER liposuction can have the added benefit of providing some skin tightening effect in addition to removal of fat. However, experienced VASER surgeons all advise their clients not to expect any significant skin tightening. Over the skin, non-invasive radio-frequency and ultrasound treatments can help to reduce fat and tighten skin but the results are very variable and multiple sessions are needed. More recently some have advocated use of the plasma pen for skin tightening. This has had some success on the face but that is very different to the abdomen.

The downtime from J-Plazty Abs is significantly shorter than with an abdominoplasty. Post-operative recovery is very similar to VASER liposuction. Following the procedure clients are asked to wear a corset compression garment for the first 72 hours and then continue to wear this every night for the next 4 weeks. There can be some oozing from the incision sites that are often left to heal naturally. There is minimal pain associated with the procedure and paracetamol will often suffice. We recommend our clients take 4 to 5 days off work. It is advisable to avoid any strenuous exercise for at least 2 weeks and no heavy lifting for 4 weeks.

The results of J-Plazty Abs will be noticeable soon after the procedure within the first week. The results will continue to improve over the course of 3 to 6 months as there is continued skin contracture and generation of new collagen and elastin. J-Plazty Abs is in many ways a minimally invasive alternative to a ‘tummy tuck’. However, in cases of skin overhang an abdominoplasty is the only option.

J-Plazty Abs is a game changer for those seeking liposculpting with VASER. When coupled with VASER J-Plazty Abs can tighten the skin fantastically and is a minimally invasive option for many who would otherwise be considering an abdominoplasty.

Compression

Following all J-Plazty and VASER liposuction procedures the application of a compression garment is essential. Compression garments are tight fitting garments that are worn immediately after the procedure. They apply constant pressure against the body and help to squeeze fluid out. They are essential for shaping and optimising the final result.

In the case of J-Plazty Skin Tightening with Renuvion compression garments take on extra significance. The compression garment prevents further swelling of the treated underside of the skin. This ensures that the skin remains more tight and heals well. Without compression there is continued swelling and this will compromise your final result.

The compression garment should be worn for 24hours a day for the first 2 weeks after your procedure. At this point we encourage all our clients to try to get into a garment one size smaller to provide even more compression. Often a board and waist trainer can also be extremely helpful. Good back posture is extremely important especially when it comes to skin tightening for abs.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Massage

MLD is a hugely important part of the recovery from J-Plazty Skin Tightening and VASER liposuction. MLD is a specialised form of massage that helps the body rid itself of fluid that is left behind after body contouring procedures. It also helps to smooth out the skin and shape redistribution of fat in the treated areas.

MLD together with compression after liposuction and Renuvion skin tightening is just as important as the procedure itself. Without MLD and compression the best results cannot be achieved. We recommend at least 5-10 sessions over a period of 2 to 5 weeks starting within 5 days of your procedure.

At Rejuvence we have our own in house MLD therapist and can provide you with a complete package. Our therapist trained in Brazil and has a huge amount of experience with both VASER liposuction and J-Plazty patients.
